About the Harvest Run

What is the Harvest Run?

The Harvest Run, hosted by the Red Deer Runners since 1991, began as a modest community event and has since blossomed into a much-anticipated gathering of over 350 runners, supported by a dedicated team of volunteers. Now in its 32nd year, we invite you to be a part of this exciting tradition in 2024!

Event Details

Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 8th, 2024, and join us for a family-friendly event that offers something for everyone. Whether you're looking to challenge yourself with an 8km run or prefer a leisurely 3km walk/run, you'll enjoy the scenic beauty of the Red Deer trail system. Our event welcomes participants of all ages and skill levels—from competitive runners to enthusiastic beginners.

Community and Giving Back

As a non-profit organization, the Harvest Run is committed to making fitness accessible. We keep entry fees low, thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, and any surplus funds are channeled into bursaries. These bursaries help local young athletes compete at higher levels, including national competitions, by easing financial barriers.

Our Mission

Our mission is to foster active living in Central Alberta by creating an inclusive and affordable event. The Harvest Run is more than just a race; it’s a celebration of community, health, and personal achievement. Many participants use the Harvest Run as their first-ever race, making it a memorable milestone in their fitness journey.

Join Us

Above all, the Harvest Run is about having fun and sharing the joy of fitness with family and friends. Whether you're running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, we guarantee a morning full of encouragement, excitement, and community spirit.

Sincerely,
The 2024 Harvest Run Executive Committee
